Advanced Plan Placement Probing Routines
The subscription package of the Bantam Tools software comes with the advanced boss, bore, and rectangular probing routines (in addition to the automated routines included in the base package). These plan placement routines help you to set up jobs even faster.
Web Centerline Probing Routine
This plan placement routine allows you to quickly locate the center of a rectangular feature that is protruding from your part.
To use this routine complete the following steps:
- Import and set up your design file.
- Install a 1/4” or 1/8” probe and perform a tool touch-off.
- Go to the Plan Placement tab.
- Click the Plan Placement Probing Routines button.
- Select Web Centerline and click Next in the pop-up window.
- Pick the axis you wish to probe, follow the onscreen prompts, and when you're ready click Start.
- When the routine is complete, click Accept.
You can repeat this routine to find the center point of the other axis to find the true center of our feature—if you need.

This probing routine is similar to the Web Centerline probing routine, except it locates the X or Y centerline of a pocket feature.

If you need to, repeat this routine to find the center point of the other axis to find the true center of our feature.
